So, about 10 minutes ago I wandered outside to find the sky was orange, and I'm pretty sure a mass of clouds were rotating and fanning out of a central axis point. Not only that, a little to the left the clouds sort of went up, and massed together. Like the sky was cracking open.

It also looked like there was an orange filter going on. Of course, this was due to the heavy cloud cover at sunset, so the orange light was naturally going to choke out everything else, but it was the most beautiful and scary thing I've seen in a long time.

After admiring it for so long, I went back inside and came back out with my camera phone, only to find that the orange had receeded quite a bit and the "crack" had faded. I wish I'd gotten a picture for you guys, because it was amazing. All I got was remnants of what was, which I'll upload, but it doesn't do it near justice. :\

Sounds like a hurricane/tornado though... or that's how I imagined it...

I love looking at the sky and sometimes I've gotten glimpses of some of the most beautiful imagery I could never describe.

Thats really cool though. Just by the way you described it... it's awe striking and scary.

Ahaha. I probably should have done a better job of describing the clouds, but I was in a rush to get it all out. But, thanks, guys.

I'm planning on doing a bit of research too, it was too amazing to not.
