Hey all,
So I was wondering what goes into account on character selection for the keropla? I mean I personally would love some keropla of Sumomo, Tororo, Zoruru, tadpole/frog Taruru. Did they just believe these characters would not sell? There are so many manga and anime characters from the keroverse that could be made and that I would like keropla of.
Yeah, I've seen Pururu, Garuru, Dark Keroro, and some others. I think they only do the "main" or important characters. You never know if someday a Keropla of some new frog might be made.

That's it, basically. The Japanese seemingly just don't like to buy things based on secondary characters. Most kid franchises solely feature the main protagonist cast in their toylines, not even the villains (The only big exception is the original Gundam).

Pururu gets to be featured because she's the only important "girl". Garuru gets to be featured because he's like a cool 6th Ranger, but that's it. Even in that recent card game and other products, Garuru and Pururu often are the only ones who appear.

They prefer to release multiple variations of the main cast, like Musha and Pirates, than any secondary characters. Dark Keroro and the evil kid Keroro appeared before many others in the Keropla line because they're basically "Keroro" variations.

The Keropla line is on hold right now (and right before the release of the King Dororo Robo...), so it'll take even longer for any possible Keropla featuring a new character.
Yeah I was wondering what was up with the missing King Dororo Robo

I was wondering why there was no pre-sell for his model yet. FFFF-man! That's the only Pirate Model I'm missing right now!
Why is it on hold?

Plus models have moved to their mechs more, so unless Garuru's team starts riding mechs...yeah, I don't see them ever getting models. Wasn't the last character models the Musha ones? Love if Pirates got character models. <_<
If they would make Taruru, Tororo, and Zoruru I would probably jizz in my pants and buy the Pururu and Garuru ones in heartbeat while I still can.

I've been thinking about collecting more of the Keroplas (Since I have Giroro already. they're in my price range. and those Kaiyodo figurines I was collecting seem out of print/bootlegged on ebay)
but because I'm a nerd, I'd want to get one of everybody. so not having the rest of the garuru platoon doesn't sit well with me.
but then again, the best way to show your interest in something is to put down money for it. so I should probably get some minor characters one of these days...

on similar note, there is always the option of doing repaints?
I found this repaint (of, I guess Tamama) to look like Chiroro and Karara

No official reason. Although I've noticed a few things... like, Bandai is not listed among the main sponsors of Keroro's current season, even though they were until the ending of the 6th season... and then there's the current situation where SD Gundam and Keroro have to share a timeslot, with half of Keroro moved to the worst possible timeslot (Keroro Otsu, 2am mondays).

I guess that Bandai wanted to just put Keroro on hold while SD Gundam is running, but Sunrise and Kadokawa (the manga's publisher) wanted to continue with it. So, we had this weird set up, with the 15 minute episodes and Otsu.

If I'm correct, when SD Gundam ends, the Keropla line should return and only then they'll make an anime feature related to the pirates (with Bandai back as a main sponsor of the anime). Unless SD Gundam just gets replaced by something else...

Weren't Garuru's and Pururu's models released only after the Musha ones? Or have I mixed up the order?
Oh yeah, I forgot about SD Gundam. That is weird with Bandai though, but here's hoping the show goes back to normal after SD Gundam. Do you know how many episodes it has? I think you said before, but not fully sure.

Actually, I have no clue when Garuru and Pururu came out. Might have been after Musha, but that still was a bit ago now.

According to the site Anime News Network, it should have only 26 episodes, but ANN is wrong sometimes.
Garuru is keropla 30, Musha Viper 32, Pululu 33, Older Brother Viper 34
