Yep, you heard right! Earlier today, FUNimation Entertainment announced that they have licensed a third season of the Sgt. Frog anime! They expect to be shipping it over the summer. Yesterday, some unfortunate news made its way around the net. An update on the Japanese website for the Sgt. Frog anime shows that the episodes that are scheduled to air on March 26/27 will be the final episodes of the Sgt. Frog anime, which has been airing in Japan for 7 years. However, the site did say that it was only ending “for now,” meaning that it’s technically just going on hiatus. The manga will continue to be published, however.
